Gord French

Owner & Appraiser
AACI, P.App

Born and raised in Rossland, B.C., Gord is an AACI, P.App with more than 20 years of experience in real estate valuation, consulting and property acquisition. He provides residential and commercial appraisal services throughout the Kootenay Boundary and Southern Interior of British Columbia. ...

Gord began his appraisal career with Rivard Appraisals in Vernon, B.C., where he spent five years gaining extensive experience in residential valuation, including vacant land, single-family homes and executive waterfront properties. He earned the AACI, P.App designation from the Appraisal Institute of Canada in 2008.

Gord subsequently joined Altus Group in Vancouver, where his work expanded into commercial real estate valuation. His assignments included retail, office, industrial and multi-family properties throughout British Columbia, including valuation work in the Lower Mainland, Okanagan and Thompson regions.

In 2015, Gord joined BC Hydro as a Property Representative, where he was responsible for negotiating and acquiring property rights for major transmission projects, including rights-of-way, land acquisitions and Crown land tenures. This experience provided Gord with additional expertise in property acquisition, compensation and right-of-way matters.

Gord later returned to the Kootenays and established Summit Appraisal & Consulting Ltd. His practice combines extensive local market knowledge with broad residential and commercial valuation experience throughout British Columbia.

In 2019, Gord also co-founded QuickComp, a cloud-based comparable sales database and analysis platform developed specifically for Canadian real estate appraisers.

Marcus Randt

Candidate Appraiser

Marcus graduated at the top of his class at Thompson Rivers University (TRU) and has continued to excel throughout his appraisal career. He is passionate about real estate and enjoys understanding the factors that influence property values across different markets. Outside of work, Marcus enjoys spending time with his wife, Katie, and their two dogs.

Sarita Hartson

Candidate Appraiser

Sarita is a Candidate Appraiser who recently completed a post-graduate program through Selkirk College. She is now working on completing her Post Graduate Certificate in Real Property Valuation (PGCV) with Sauder School of Business. Sarita's background in accounting is evident with advanced data analytical skills. Her passion for research and attention to detail is a tremendous asset to the team at Summit. When she's not studying, you can usually find her in the mountains somewhere, hiking, snowboarding, or taking her dogs on adventures.

Taylor French

Office Manager

Taylor is our Office Manager and ensures efficient scheduling and on-time delivery of our appraisal assignments. She also performs bookkeeping and works casually as a Registered Nurse.

Walter

Office Dog

Walter is our office therapy and guard dog. He also specializes in Dog House Appraisals, chew toys, and playing fetch. When Walter isn't at the office you can find him running in parks, swimming at Christina Lake or hiking in Rossland.

All appraisers at Summit Appraisal & Consulting Ltd are accredited members in good standing with the AIC (Appraisal Institute of Canada) – the largest governing and insuring body in Canada for appraisers. Each report is authored by a designated member and conforms to CUSPAP (Canadian Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice).
